DS UPDATE - The different combat modes.

Hey folks!

Here is a little update on the new combat system.

As I said before, the new combat system will make you change combat tatics based on the enemy you are facing.

The intend is to make the combat more dynamic and strategic at the same time.

The modes are :

1) OFFENSE

Your suit's arm sleeves expand to form gauntlets over your hands. Melee damage and critical strike chances are significantly increased and  can pierce through heavy armor.  (exemple : a monster that deals a LOT of damage that healing can't soak in for a long time... So you need to take the target out quickly or a monster that uses heavy armor. Making it unkillable unless you use this mode to pierce through it's defenses)

2) DEFENSE 

Scales form on your suit. Protecting your vital points and even slightly increasing your strenght (Adds a little bit of raw damage, but not much). This mode is usefull when facing ennemies with very deadly attacks (Exemple : An attack that would one shot you unless you are in defense mode). The increase in strenght also means that you can use this mode to free yourself quicker from deadly enemy grabs (Some grabs are impossible to get free off unless you have this mode on)

3) SPEED 

Grants you extra speed. Your chances to HIT a moving target increases (Usefull against very fast/agile enemies). It also increases your chances to avoid some attacks and grabs that would not be avoidable otherwhise (Some of them are ok but others are extremly deadly... Making this mode a must in some combat situations)


FACTS ABOUT THESE SUIT MODES :

- For the first chapter of this game, you can only use one mode at a time. As you level up in the two futur chapters, you will learn to use 2 or 3 at the same time (But you will still activate only one mode per turn)

- The first chapter of the game will focus on you learning these 3 combat modes. To do so you will need the help of other willing safari girls of different races or in other cases fight those who are unwilling to assist you to get it. (This also applies to special abilities, though some of these can be learned from defeating some bosses or meeting some conditions in the story)

- Activating a mode, like abilities, will consume energy. Energy replenishes overtime during combat, though there will be an consumable in the game to boost that up. Each suit mode will only last for a given number of turns. So it's up to you to manage your suits energy levels to avoid finding yourself in a dangerous situation (Exemple :A monster that requires speed mode to avoid a deadly poison attack. Speed mode runs out and you don't have enough energy to activate it untill the next two turns. Fail to keep some modes up at all times against some enemies and it could proove deadly to you).

- Some combat modes will enhance the effects of some special abilities.
